Feeling Wild

Wednesday 30th August, 2017

It's about time I wrote another post... It's been quite a while, and what better to write about than Reading Festival?

Fair, I've done quite a lot this summer. With an impulsive trip to New York (with no plans of where to stay when I first booked it) a mini road trip with my best girls (resulting in matching best friend tattoos) Bulgaria and Ibiza. But there is nothing quite like the feeling you get when you go to a festival.

As always, I over pack. Carrying a massive army rucksack and a very heavy, large sainsburys bag full of alcohol - I think it was safe to say I was pretty knackered.

I was sweating like a bitch.

First of all, I have to say... If you love the idea of a festival but want to keep clean? Camp where I camped (PINK MOON) at an extra £100, we had our tent already set up (a very nice tent, too). We had showers, a charging area, blow dryers, hair straighteners and even a super fancy shmansy breakfast bar. IT WAS AMAZING.

Friday was my favourite day by far. With Circa Waves, You Me at Six, Two Door Cinema Club and Declan Mckenna, I could hardly say no. The day flashed by quicker than light travels - I've never known a day to go so fast! I was already thinking about how sad I was to go home and we hadn't even got to Saturday.

As you could guess, Saturday was a busy busy day. I can imagine most people were there to see Eminem and BOYYYYYYY did he not disappoint. First of all, he comes in hating on Donald Trump (yeah, we all hate you, Trump) and then he just kicks ass with some super classics.

And lets not forget Liam Gallagher performing 'Wonderwall' on Sunday. Was I expecting it? Hell no. Was it great? It was more than that. Watching the coloured flares leave people's hands and people climb onto their friends shoulders, you can't help but think you've made it big.

The last time I went to Reading I was 17 years old and now I just couldn't imagine leaving it such a gap until I go again. I personally think you feel most free in a surrounding like a festival and Reading just did not disappoint.

I get that a lot of people say they can't afford things like Reading, but just do what I done - instalments. I paid £50 upfront and then a further £50 every now and then up until I had paid the full £200(ish).

I wish I could write PAGES AND PAGES about how incredible this years experience is, but I don't want to bore you all with all the details. For now, just enjoy the small snippet I gave you up above (after all, I don't want to give it all away).

So... Until next time, Reading.

p.s. to all you 17 year old girls I saw walking round in bras with "Will trade sex for Ket" on your AA sized chests - grow up.
